A crime scene has been put in place in Beaconsfield Road after a fatal shooting which left a man, said to be in his mid-20s, dead despite the efforts of paramedics
An investigation has been launched after a young man was shot dead in north London – with the gunman remaining at large.
A huge police presence remains at the scene on a quiet residential road as the search for the culprit continues.
The Metropolitan Police Service’s Enfield Borough branch confirmed officers and paramedics were called to the scene in Beaconsfield Road at around 9pm on Wednesday.
Video footage and photos from the scene shows at least a dozen police vehicles and a cordon, with officers patrolling the street.
Posting on Twitter, Enfield MPS said: “Police are on scene following a fatal shooting on Beaconsfield Road, N9, at approx. 21:00hrs.
“Despite efforts of officers and paramedics, a man in his mid-20s was pronounced dead at the scene. A crime scene has been put in place.
It comes just days after three men were shot in another incident in north London – with one left in a life threatening condition.
Police were called to Haringey at 00.41am on July 23 and found three people with gunshot injuries.
Wednesday’s tragic incident is understood to be the seventh fatal shooting in North London so far in 2020.
