Ross Tucker Joins the Show! Let’s talk Offensive Lines
Covering the impact of coronavirus on the sports world
The 2019-20 NBA season is officially underway, and on Friday night, the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks are meeting in their first game inside the Disney World bubble. After the first quarter, the Bucks have jumped out to a 33-25 lead.
Likely MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was terrific in the early going, with eight points, seven rebounds and two assists in the opening frame. The Celtics have thus far had no answer for him on the offensive end. He got inside for a number of easy baskets, and also found shooters when the Celtics sent help.
Boston struggled shooting the ball in the first quarter, going 9-of-25 from the field, but kept themselves in the game with effort plays. They got four steals in the first quarter, found six second chance points, and got to the line eight times. They’ll need to start making some shots in order to keep up with the Bucks, however.
marcus smart harasses kyle korver into a turnover. brad wannamaker picks up the loose ball and gets to the line. celtics have really needed these kind of scrappy points with how poorly they’re shooting
giannis brings the ball up the floor and walks his way into a 3 from the top of the key. pushes the bucks’ lead back up to 10. they’re now 7 of 16 from 3 for the game. when they’re hitting 3s its almost impossible to stop them
jayson tatum snakes his way into the lane and draws the foul. will be interesting to see if this gets him going on the offensive end
wes matthews ended up missing the 3 but man that was some awesome ball movement from the bucks right there. celtics trapped giannis and he gave it up, which led to a number of crisp passes. good offense, just missed the shot
giannis goes for 8 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in the first quarter to get the bucks out to a 33-25 lead. celtics really struggled the first few minutes but slowly worked their way back into the game through defense and second chance points. tough start for jayson tatum who has 2 points on 1 of 6 from the field
It’s going to take a team effort to defend the length the Bucks have tonight, but our guys have been waiting for this opportunity for four months.Stream now with @NBCSBoston: https://t.co/pQz8H1tlbZ pic.twitter.com/5g9pm1vNfT
giannis comes in and the bucks immediately get a wide open three. korver buries it to put their lead back up to eight points
two straight turnovers by the bucks coming out of the timeout. celtics get a layup from marcus smart and a free throw from jaylen brown. bucks lead cut down to three. they aren’t scoring quite as easily since giannis went to the bench
celtics have hit five straight shots now to cut the lead down to five. they’ve settled down and are finding their rhythm now
bucks dominating early up 15-2 and force brad stevens to take a timeout. just getting whatever they want on the offensive end. giannis already has a number of easy baskets in the paint. celtics struggling on offense. disjointed a bit and have missed some looks from 3
lmao giannis and wes matthews just got in each other’s way while going for a defensive rebound and tipped it in for a celtics basket
no eric bledsoe for the bucks tonight after his late arrival in the bubble due to a positive covid 19 test. donte divincenzo gets the start in his place
