We already knew that Bobby Lashley was going to defend his WWE title against Randy Orton for the WWE RAW episode of September 13, but the big surprise is that Big E decided to interfere in the meeting.

Indeed, at the opening of the show Big E announced that he was going to cash his Money in the Bank briefcase no matter who was going to be champion and no matter how the match was going to end. As promised, Big E cashed in his briefcase after the match and he became the new WWE Champion!

Lashley beat Orton using an MVP distraction to make his Spear and the three count. After the game, he attacked Orton and hurt his knee. That’s when Big E showed up to cash in his briefcase. After resisting Lashley’s Spear, Big E stood up and made him his Big Ending for the count of three and become the new WWE Champion!

The show ended with a New Day celebration that ends up on RAW and for the first time Big E wins a WWE World Title!

Big E spoke immediately after the show on RAW Talk on the WWE Network to give his first comments minutes after his victory. Big E says he’s feeling great after this big time. He gets chills just thinking about what he’s been through. He adds :

I’ll always remember the three of us fighting to be on screen. We did such cool things. I have grown so much as a person and a wrestler thanks to them. I’m glad it took so long to be champion because it’s deserved. […] I am living the dream of being the champion and my best friends have come to celebrate with me. When I’m an old man ready to join the ghosts I’ll have flashbacks of this moment. ”

Big E ended by saying that he is very grateful to be the champion today in front of all of his backstage peers.
