The Super Eagles confirmed their status in the qualifying series for the FIFA World Cup on Sunday against the Central African Republic with a 2-0 victory.

A goal from Glasgow Rangers defender Leon Balogun in the 29th minute and a shocker from Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the 46th minute were all the Super Eagles needed to restore their destroyed image against CAR.

The top-class Eagles had their first encounter in front of football-loving Lagos fans Losing 1-0 before traveling to Cameroon to vent their anger at CAR.

The first half of the highly competitive game ended with Nigeria dictating the pace and having full control of the midfield, which CAR did saved from many unforgivable mistakes.
