This operation at 44 billion dollars is in the sights of the British competition authority, which fears an attack on competition. The operation, which was due to end in June, should be closed by the end of the year.

Regulatory procedure or ominous? The British competition authority (CMA) said on Monday it was investigating the takeover of IHS Markit by S & P Global, two of Wall Street’s largest data providers.

The investigation is due to begin this Tuesday, with a first decision scheduled for October 19. The CMA had asked the two parties to advance their arguments between the end of June and mid-July.
