Heavy D – real name Colin Newell – has died, his friend confirmed today. The star of Storage Hunters and Celebrity Big Brother sparked concern among his family by going missing days before he died.
Celebrity Big Brother star Heavy D has died at the age of 47, his friend has confirmed.
Larger than life reality star Colin Newell passed away this week after “disappearing” for a fortnight, as Mirror Online understands.
His brother Patrick Newell confirmed the sad news, saying he had been desperately looking for Colin for two weeks before his death.
His buddy Nick Nevern tweeted, “I am very shocked that & is saddened that my friend @HeavyHeavyd has passed away.
“You lived your life the way you wanted it for &, for anyone who didn’t like it! You always put a smile on my face, brother & saved every room you were in. #RIPHeavyD. “
He was an avid Arsenal fan and gave regular interviews on AFTV, with the station tweeting the news of his death.
A post on the AFTV Twitter page read: “We are shocked to hear the sad news that Heavy D passed away today. Our condolences go to his family at this very sad time. #RIPHeavyD. “
He continued to be active on social media until almost two weeks ago, posting his last tweet on Jan.. November.
Heavy D’s real name was Colin Newell and was best known for appearing in Storage Wars and 2016’s CelebrityBig Brother.
He was on the show alongside stars like Stephen Bear, Lewis Bloor, Chloe Khan, Marnie Simpson and Samantha Fox.
He was also an aspiring actor who even took a two-year course at the Young Actors Theater.
Heavy D became a dad in 2017 when his on / off girlfriend Bryony Harris gave birth to a daughter.
He appeared in an episode of Judge Rinder in 2018 to address a dispute with his landlord.
The landlord claimed the reality star owned his property 5. 000 pounds of damage inflicted while Heavy D denied the amount and 8. Claimed £ 000 for loss of earnings caused by a negative story the owner sold to the press.
During the show, Judge Rinder asked why he was unable to pay two months’ rent despite his celebrity status.
“I got out of Big Brother. I thought there was going to be a lot of work. My agent couldn’t get me a job and the job just dried up. “

“He was on a real mission to improve his health and was making amazing progress. Box and eat clean. And train so hard.
“I would imagine that gyms and fitness facilities closing down was difficult for his physical and mental health. He lived for the advances he made and his nights of fighting.
“It was a great pleasure to be with all of my teachers and students. He always took the time to greet them all.
“Totally shocked! One of the funniest men I have ever known and a pleasure to exercise and try to stay on track. Which was not easy sometimes !!
