Two people lost their lives on Tuesday morning in an accident on the N2. The tragedy occurred shortly before 11 a.m., between the roundabouts of Sandweiler and Schrassig, where a truck hit a car head-on. The two occupants of the car, a 54-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man from the neighboring German border region, died on the spot due to the severity of their injuries.

According to reports from the police, the driver of the truck and his passenger were not seriously affected. They were taken to hospital along with another person in shock for treatment. By order of the prosecution, the measurement and reconnaissance service was tasked with investigating the scene of the accident. The road is still closed at 3:30 p.m., in both directions.
