NEW YORK (AP) – Minnesota Twins pitcher John Gant held just 12 pitches against the New York Yankees on Monday and left with an apparent injury.

Gant, a 29-year-old right-hander, got divorced DJ LeMahieu and Brett Gardner at ground-outs from the ground of the first and Aaron Judge walked four pitches.

Manager Rocco Baldelli and sports director Michael Salazar went to the hill, spoke briefly with the thrower and Gant was removed. </ Luke Farrell, a son of former Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell, was relieved and brought Giancarlo Stanton into a force-out.

Minnesota led Jorge Polanco and Miguel Sanó against rookie in the first round Luis Gil 4-0 after two runs.
