Things are off to a good start for French track cycling! The French Marion Borras, Victoire Berteau, Valentine Fortin, with the Breton Marie Le Net, broke the French record on Monday morning with a time of 4’12’511.
A few minutes later, it was the Germans who improved the world record by more than three seconds (4’07”307)… The old record, over the distance of 4 km, had been held by Great Britain since the Olympic Games in Rio, in 4’10”236. The German quartet consisted of Franziska Brausse, Lisa Brennauer, Lisa Klein and Mieke Kröger. The women’s team pursuit is off to a flying start!
