UNUSUAL – Nicolas Gentile is an absolute Lord of the Rings fan, so much so that he decided to live like a “Hobbit”. The 37-year-old Italian pastry chef bought land in the countryside of Bucchianico, near the town of Chieti, south of Pescara.

Accompanied by his wife and children, Nicolas has built his own “County”, as you can see in the video at the top of the article. Little by little, the pastry chef reproduces the universe of the author, JRR Tolkien. In the two hectares of land he bought, he has already built his first house, where he lives with his family, in Hobbit clothes. He plans to build other mythical places from his favorite book like the Green Dragon Inn or the Dwarven Caravan. “Some time ago, I realized that books and movies were no longer enough for me to satisfy my passion for the fantasy genre and, in particular, for the Lord of the Rings saga,” Nicolas Gentile told The Guardian.

His County will be called the “Contea Gentile”. The houses will be built using solar energy to create a sustainable and eco-responsible space. The Italian pastry chef loves nature, and his goal is to take care of it. “The earth today is threatened by pollution and the climate emergency, which are enemies as formidable as Sauron. We wanted to show that our land, like Tolkien’s Middle-earth, needs to be saved and protected. ” explains Nicolas Gentile.

On August 27, alongside a group of Lord of the Rings friends and fans. The pastry chef walked more than 200 kilometers, from his village to Naples, to throw the “One Ring”, central element of the Lord of the Rings saga, in the crater of the volcano Vesuvius.
