SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Our winter storm system has arrived in Siouxland and is already bringing some snow to northwest Iowa, along with a mix of precipitation elsewhere to start the day.

Later this morning will We’re all transitioning to snow and that snow seems to last for the rest of the day.

It could be heavy at times in parts of northwest Iowa where totals are expected to be in the 6 to 10 inch range by the end of tonight.

The morning mix and snow later in the day are likely to result in some slippery roads.

In addition, winds will increase tonight and could result in blowing snow in some areas, particularly in eastern Siouxland where the ending with higher totals.
