HBO’s The Last of Us series adapted from the eponymous video game unveiled a first image of Joel and Ellie, the main characters played by actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

After the excellent mini-series Chernobyl, Craig Mazin will stay on HBO to achieve another major project: the adaptation of The Last of Us, the post-apocalyptic video game released in 2013 and instantly become cult for many. players. In addition to writing the screenplay, he is executive producing the series alongside Neil Druckmann, one of the franchise’s writers and creative directors, as well as the co-president of the Naughty Dog studio, who will also go behind the camera for make at least one of the ten episodes that will count in the first season of the series.

If it will surely take a while before having a first teaser, the shooting of the pilot having ended in August, the creator took advantage of the recent Last of Us Day to unveil a first visual of the long-awaited adaptation. We can thus see the star duo formed by Joel, played by Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian), and Ellie played by Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones).

When I first saw them on set in full costume, I was like: “Hooooooly shit! It’s Joel & Ellie! ????!” The @HBO adaptation of @ Naughty_Dog’s The Last of Us is full steam ahead! Can’t wait to show you more (from all of our projects!) Happy #TLoUDay !!! pic.twitter.com/trq9N340FW

“When I first saw them in costume on set, I was like, ‘Fuck! It’s Joel and Ellie! ‘ Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us adaptation on HBO is moving fast! I can’t wait to show you more (on all our projects!) Happy TLoUDay !! “

In addition to finding outfits very similar, even almost identical, to those of the characters from the first video game (which should reassure some fans about the fidelity of the work), the eye is also drawn to the crashed plane that is located in front of them. We do not yet know if it will be an element of the plot, which as we know will deviate at times from the video game framework, or just a new element of scenery to support the atmosphere and the post-apocalyptic aesthetic of the series, whose invoice should exceed that of Game of Thrones.

For now, no release date has been announced, but we should know more once the filming of the season is fully completed.

Uh …. Yeah …. Finally the guys quickly go into ecstasies in front of crappy cosplay-style clothes and backpack ….
