A RACEVIEW man was admitted to hospital early Friday with serious injuries, including burns to his arms and legs, after an apparent disorder.

Police said an altercation was reported on Mahogany Street around 4:45 a.m. in which a man aged 20 sustained injuries to his face and abdomen and burns to his arms and legs.

Four firefighters took part and put out a fire in the roof. A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire was extinguished at 5:30 a.m. and the crews stayed on site until about 6:30 a.m.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in grave condition.

Ipswich CIB detectives are on site and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The police have yet to comment on the nature of the incident or who else may have been involved.
