HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 171 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the number to 6.71,000 while the death toll rose to 3,952 with one more death.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the largest number of new cases at 58, followed by Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy and Warangal Urban counties (13 each), according to a state government bulletin that details it at 5:30 p.m. today.

In 208 people who recovered from the infectious disease, the cumulative number of recoveries was 6,62,922, leaving 4,126 active cases.

According to the bulletin, 38,373 samples were tested on Thursday, the total number tested to date , was 2.74.68.486.

The samples tested per million population were 7.38.003. The mortality and recovery rates were 0.58 percent and 98.79 percent, respectively, compared to the national average of 1.3 percent and 98.17 percent.
