SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan has written to Scotland’s clubs supporting chairman Neil Doncaster and criticized the Rangers for refusing to recognize new league sponsors.

The online auto sales company signed one £ 8m contract to become a league sponsor, but the Rangers refused to display the Cinch logo on their jerseys as they opened their Premiership campaign against Livingston on Saturday.

The Rangers believe they are entitled are not to promote a company that is in direct competition with one of their own commercial supporters, with Chairman Douglas Park owning his own auto sales company, and feel supported by the SPFL’s own rules on this point.

That put Doncaster under pressure, but MacLennan encouraged all clubs to email support to the SPFL executive director
