Serie A: Lazio Roma crush Spezia with a hat-trick from Immobile, Atalanta held in check by Bologna
Continuation of the second day of Serie A this Saturday. Lazio Rome received Spezia, the Romans wanted to follow up with a second victory, after their 1-3 victory on the lawn of Empoli last week, while their opponents had brought them a point from Cagliari (2-2). Lazio were surprised from the start and Spezia took the lead through Verde (0-1, 4th). The Biancocelesti were quick to react and Immobile equalized (1-1, 5th), before giving his team the advantage a few minutes later (2-1, 15th). Just before half-time, the Italy international saw his penalty save but scored a hat-trick on the action after catching a corner (3-1, 45 ‘2).
As soon as they returned from the locker room, Anderson worsened the score with a cross strike (4-1, 47 ‘). Reduced to 10 after the expulsion of Amian (55 ‘), Spezia conceded a fifth goal scored by Hysaj (5-1, 70’), then a sixth late in the game from Luis Alberto (6-1, 85 ‘). Like Lazio, Atalanta also wanted to win for their home debut of the season after beating Torino (1-2). For that, it was necessary to get rid of Bologna, winner against the promoted Salernitana (3-2) last weekend. At the end of the first half, neither side managed to gain the advantage, despite the domination of the Bergamo club. Atalanta continued to push in the second act without finding the loophole in the Bolognese defense and eventually conceded the draw (0-0).
