Rome’s ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final between world No.1 Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas, ATP 5, was interrupted by rain and will only resume on Saturday, as the Greek leads 6-4, 2-1.
The meeting was interrupted for the first time in the first set (at 4-3 for Tsitsipas), for more than 3:30, due to the heavy rain which watered the Eternal City.
She was able to resume around 6:45 pm, time for Tsitsipas to pocket the first round, but had to stop again half an hour later.
It’s the second time this week that Novak Djokovic has had to deal with the rain. His first game on Wednesday in the second round against American Taylor Fritz was suspended for almost three hours.
