LONDON: Older players Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara did not take the field during the second innings in England on the fourth day of the fourth Test here because they sustained a knee and ankle injury while standing at 153.

Rohit, 127, and Pujara, 61, started India’s big second innings for a total of 466, but as the innings progressed, Pujara twisted his ankle and buckled him for most of his innings.

“Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara will not enter the field. Rohit has left knee discomfort while Pujara has left ankle pain. The BCCI medical team is investigating them, “BCCI said in a press release.
