Rhys Williams has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool and has moved to Swansea City on loan until the end of the season.
The center-back wrote the new terms with the Reds before leaving to spend the 2021-22 season with the championship club after completing his temporary move on the day of the transfer deadline.
Academy graduate Williams After his debut in September 2020, played 19 senior games for the Reds last season, including nine in the Premier League and six in the Champions League.
His partnership with Nathaniel Phillips in the final stages of the campaign was crucial for third place and the return to the Champions League for Jürgen Klopp’s team.
Williams, who was on loan at Kidderminster Harriers in 2019-20, will now try to gain more experience in the first team at Liberty Stadium, with his loan change being the subject to international approval.
