PONCHATOULA – Residents of parts of the Tangipahoa community have been advised to evacuate from Hurricane Ida.

Mayor Robby Miller announced Friday that the local government had been advising residents who live in flood-prone areas south of LA 22 Who Recommends Evacuation

“While this is not a mandatory evacuation, I strongly encourage our residents who live in low-lying, flood-prone areas south of LA 22 to prepare now and voluntarily evacuate their homes before landing and the tidal wave predicted by forecasters is kicking this storm, “Miller said.

Miller added that those living in trailers or RVs in the area should also be evacuated.
