The Free Agent Guard Alex Caruso will have several options this off-season as an unrestricted free agent.

Since the Los Angeles Lakers do not have the right to fulfill an offer that Caruso receives, they may have to outbid other interested teams to keep him.

“The Lakers should and will try to keep both Caruso and Horton-Tucker, but that depends on how deep they are into the luxury tax Jovan Buha and Bill Oram of The Athletic wrote. “Caruso beat 40.1 percent of his 3 series last season. Presumably the Lakers would be willing to go into the low double digits to keep Caruso. He’s a well-known asset, albeit with a clear upper limit. ”

Last season, Caruso averaged 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, while he was 43.6 percent off Field and shot 40.1 percent out of bounds.

While his numbers don’t jump off the side, Caruso is a solid defender (he had a 2.3 defensive box plus / minus last season) and passes into a role with the current Lakers roster.

Los Angeles will certainly have some wage cap restrictions after agreeing to act for Russell Westbrook, but if the Lakers truly appreciate Caruso, there is a way for him to go to return for the next season.
