Trained at Olympique Lyonnais where he arrived since he was 6 years old, Rayan Cherki intends to help write the history of the Rhone club.

Little used by Rudi Garcia with whom he seemed to have a complicated relationship, the young Franco-Algerian striker on the other hand maintains good relations with the new coach of Gones, Peter Bosz. And the club are counting on him for the present, but also and above all for the future.

Interviewed by Onze Mondial, Rayan Cherki made no secret of his admiration for OL, a club he never dreamed of leaving.

“I stayed at OL because I love this club and especially because I wanted the city of Lyon to remember me. Because I remember her and I will always remember her. When you are a supporter of Lyon and you play in Lyon, you are very proud! Because our big brothers liked OL, because our parents liked OL, our grandparents came to France to live in Lyon in the old districts. It’s really special, it’s a real pride to play for Lyon, ”he said.

Writing the history of OL yes, but Rayan Cherki does not intend to make it his entire career. His biggest dream is to play for Real Madrid.

“The perfect route would be this: to mark the history of OL, then to mark the history of other clubs and therefore to mark the history of football. We all know that my dream is to join the biggest club in the world: Real Madrid. It would be amazing. This is my goal, I wake up every morning with this path in my head, ”he said in the end.
