A 24-year-old man is in custody this Sunday in the case of the knife attack in Ciboure (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), this weekend. The individual was arrested at his home this Sunday, August 22 by investigators from the Bayonne judicial police responsible for carrying out investigations by the prosecution, reports France Bleu. This man is suspected of being the perpetrator of the violent stabbing attack on the night from Friday to Saturday in an apartment in the district of the White Cross in the town of Ciboure, near Bayonne.
Also according to local radio, the arrest took place this morning at 6:15 am. The security forces calmly arrested the man at his home in the commune of Ciboure. The suspect was then logically taken into custody as part of the attempted murder investigation opened the day before. He should be presented to the Bayonne prosecutor’s office on Monday for a probable indictment.
The motive for this nocturnal assault remains a mystery so far. According to a source familiar with the matter, there is no known link between the victim and her attacker. Treated, at the Bayonne clinic, the victim’s days are no longer in danger this Sunday evening.

The 40-year-old woman was unloading her car in front of her apartment where she had just parked when a man came over and hit her hard in the head. The assailant then allegedly grabbed a knife in the kitchen of the victim’s apartment and beat him about ten times, before leaving the scene. A neighbor then witnesses the person fleeing through a small garden and another a neighborhood street. The eyewitness then warns the Saint-Jean-de-Luz police officers who intervene in the process.
