Premier League: emergency meeting to fight back against the slingers
The football planet has been in shock since the official launch of the Super League by twelve European top names on the night from Sunday to Monday. In response to this sling waged against UEFA, the various national leagues, from the LFP to the Premier League via La Liga, have spoken out against this project. Half of the founding clubs of this closed league are part of the English championship, and of the Big 6 (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, both Manchester and Tottenham) more precisely. So inevitably, across the Channel, this could have serious consequences on the Premier League, often cited as the best championship in the world.
The Daily Mail also announced on Monday that the 14 other PL clubs have planned an emergency meeting scheduled for Tuesday, in order to discuss the management of this crisis but above all to decide what position to adopt in the face of this revolt and what measures face the English cadors. According to the British daily, an action plan will indeed be drawn up during this meeting in the face of the crisis. Aston Villa and Everton would have it very bad against the members of the Big 6, which, if the Super League project comes to fruition, could collapse the TV rights market in England and thus lead to the descent into hell of the little ones Premier League clubs.
