Morning Consult recently unveiled a new series of polls that identified which players fans in the NBA league love and hate most.

Although Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors has played for two consecutive NBAs -Season missed the playoffs, he’s the most popular player among NBA fans. With the latest data, Under Armor’s decision to bet on the star shooter for its own standalone curry brand seems to be paying off. On the heels of Steph, his former teammate and now Brooklyn Nets striker, Kevin Durant comes in second, while Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James takes third. Others on the list include James ‘teammate Anthony Davis and last year’s champion, Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, to round out the top 5.

The study also states that “18 percent of NBA fans who Have a negative opinion of James, who was third highest on the poll ”. James has previously been criticized by current and former players for failing to take a stance to convince others in the league to vaccinate.

The Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons and Nets ’Guard Kyrie Irving are in last place and receive the title for the most unpopular players in the NBA. Simmons has received a ton of negative publicity recently due to his off-season attitude and alleged insult with the Sixers organization and Joel Embiid. Irving, on the other hand, has been heavily criticized for his vaccination status, seeing fans split over his decision to stay unvaccinated even though it means he can’t play.

In other sports news, Rory McIlroy earned his 20th PGA title by winning the CJ Cup.
