At around 2:30 p.m. today, police received reports that a teenage boy was missing while swimming in the River Dee near Lower Park Road.

A full-scale rescue service was put into action throughout the afternoon and evening Extensive searches took place.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, but it is believed to be the missing boy.

Superintendent Myra Ball said, “Unfortunately, this is the second river death we have seen in the county this week. This seems like another tragic accident and our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this very difficult time. ”
