A Christian diet guru, her husband and five other people are believed to be dead after their small plane crashed into a lake in Tennessee on Saturday.

The Cessna C501 slammed into the Percy Priest at around 11 a.m. Lake outside of Nashville.

The plane belonged to 66-year-old Gwen Shamblin Lara, founder of the controversial Remnant Fellowship Church and author of The Weigh Down Workshop, and her husband Joe Lara.

The Brentwood-based one The couple had registered the aircraft through their company JL&GL Productions LP, the report said.

The other passengers were identified by authorities as Jennifer J. Martin, David L. Martin, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters and Brandon Hannah. All of them were allegedly members of Lara’s church.

Investigators said in a nightly briefing that all passengers were believed to have died, the point of sale reported.

Officials found a field of debris near the spot where the plane was last seen and fell into the water on the lake near a boat ramp.

In a text message watched by the broadcaster, Lara’s daughter Elizabeth Hannah wrote to other parishioners that her mother, husband, and other church leaders were on board the “My brother and I are asking for immediate prayers as we have just learned that Gwen and Joe Lara’s plane had to crash for a controlled, fast landing,” says the group text .

“We don’t have a word on the outcome yet, but we ask for prayers – as this plane contained Gwen and Joe, Brandon Hannah, the Martins and the Walters – adults only.”

According to the broadcaster, the controversy surrounding the for-profit religious weight loss movement had gotten around for years.

Lara, a former nutritionist who linked weight loss and Christianity, once downplayed her reputation as a prophet in the organization which some compared to a cult.

“I don’t think I know what my gift name is,” she told the broadcaster when asked about her prophetic status in 2003. I’ve been told that for years. “
