The GilClaude Group, founded in 1958, is a specialist in cut and sewn knitwear, developing household, night and sports collections for women and men and children for mass distribution, mail order and specialty brands.

The company manages all technical development on site and relies on procurement, which was mainly developed in the Mediterranean. In particular, the group has its own integrated and certified production units in Egypt and a purchasing office in Turkey, which leads to high supply efficiency.

“Historically we are a small organization, but our goal has always been to use the most efficient tools possible. We implemented quality certification as well as an ERP and PDM system very early on. We recently realized that we need to improve responsiveness at the various stages of product development and speed up our processes, “said Éric Ammar, CEO of GilClaude.

“We wanted a better interface connection to our platforms abroad in order to be able to exchange technical production data more efficiently, to further automate our production chain and to better control production monitoring by connecting our workshops and offices directly to our internal monitoring tools. Our first goal on this project is to improve productivity and execution speed. “

GilClaude also relies on its partnership with Centric Software to improve the traceability of every component of its products and to meet transparency requirements regarding environmental impact and social responsibility.

“In general, we already had good traceability of our materials and have always incorporated CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives into our approach. For example, when importing products, we make sure to select the closest locations. And now there are tools that we can use to demonstrate the effectiveness of our initiatives and provide very clear traceability. Upgrading to modern tools like Centric PLM is an important way for us to prepare for the future, “says Ammar.

For GilClaude, the impact of Covid-19 – from disrupted processes and newly removed teams to customers grappling with local bans – sparked the decision to find a new solution that would meet the goals of digital transformation.
