The Philippine Army (PA) will further improve its mobility with the expected delivery of 90 Russian-made troop-leading trucks worth 324 million pesetas this year, which the Department of National Defense (DND) will bare on Sunday May 30th.

“These trucks will certainly improve the Army’s ability to move personnel and supplies anywhere it is needed, be it in the Fight or in humanitarian aid and disaster relief, “said DND spokesman Arsenio Andolong.

The PA’s Truck Troop Carrier Light project was approved by Defense Minister Delfin Lorenzana late last year.

Published in December 2020 Lorenzana an acquisition decision protocol and a special authority for the PA Bids and Awards Committee for the procurement of 90 truck units under the mentioned project.

The trucks to be delivered by the Russian manufacturer Ural are expected to arrive within 180 calendar days or six months after receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) or opening of the letter of credit.
