This Sunday, the inhabitants of the 6th district of Pas-de-Calais were called to the polls to elect their deputy. This first round was marked by a record abstention which, according to the partial results, benefited Brigitte Bourguignon. The candidate comes first with 37.4% of the vote.

This election will probably remain in the annals of the 6th constituency. And not for good reasons. Abstention was a record for this first round of by-legislative elections. The inhabitants of the 164 communes of the 6th district of Pas-de-Calais were called upon to elect a deputy to replace Brigitte Bourguignon appointed minister last summer. His deputy did not wish to sit following his appointment.

This Sunday, voters, few of whom went to the polls, voted overwhelmingly for Brigitte Bourguignon. According to partial results. The LREM candidate leads this first round with 37.4% of the vote. Marie-Christine Bourgeois of the Rassemblement national comes behind with 23.3%. The abstention rate is peaking. Out of 18,255 registered, there are 4,721 voters (25.86%).
