They were part of the tricolor medal chances, and they did not disappoint. The tandem composed of Raphaël Beaugillet and François Pervis shone on Saturday August 28 in Tokyo. The two French riders went after themselves to grab bronze in the Km – B event. The French finished behind (2.434) two pairs of British, James Balle and his driver Lewis Stewart (1.465) second and Fachie Neil and Matthew Rotherham, Paralympic champions.

This Paralympic medal rewards a beautiful and young understanding. Raphaël Beaugillet, visually impaired runner, and François Pervis, seven-time world champion on track among able-bodied people, met to try out the Paralympic adventure a little over a year ago. Raphaël Beaugillet, multi-medalist at the French championships, was thus able to add to his list, already well stocked, a first Paralympic medal.
