Palmeiras on the roof of South America for the second edition in a row. In a 100% Brazilian final, the Greens of Palmeiras took the upper hand over the Whites of Flamengo (2-1) this Saturday evening in the final of the Copa Libertadores.

The last two winners of the South American Champions League (2020 for Palmeiras, 2019 for Flamengo) have delivered an absolutely suffocating face-to-face in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.

If Palmeiras and Flamengo did not manage to decide at the end of regulation time, Deyverson (95th) finally delivered the Sao Paulo club in overtime against that of Rio de Janeiro, for which Gabigol had equalized (72nd) after Raphael Cavalcante Veiga’s opening scoring.

Palmeiras won his third Copa Libertadores, after 1999 and therefore 2020. It had been twenty years since Boca Juniors’ double (2000 and 2001) that a club had failed to retain their title.
