The department is placed on orange rain flooding vigilance until November 24, 6 p.m. In view of the rains in progress and expected until tomorrow evening, the circulation of school transport is prohibited in the littoral-south sector and on the watersheds of Berre and Orbieu, as well as in Vinassan and Armissan.
Tuchan, Durban-Corbières, Fitou: the first photos of flooded streets and torrential rains are back on the web, supporting, if necessary, the urgency of the meteorological alert issued by Météo France for the Aude.
Météo France has placed the department on orange rain flooding vigilance and yellow vigilance for floods. At 9 p.m. the water in La Berre began to rise.
In view of the intensity of the rains expected this night and Wednesday during the day and the risk of runoff which can make traffic conditions difficult, the prefect of Aude prohibits by prefectural decree the circulation of school transport throughout the day of November 24 in the southern-littoral sector of the department and the watersheds of Berre and Orbieu, as well as the municipalities of Vinassan and Armissan.
The prefecture asks to limit travel in the areas concerned, not to take a road even partially submerged, not to go down into the basements.
The state of play can be viewed from the “Shyvaa” site set up by the Mixed Union of Aquatic Environments and Rivers of the Aude.
