Official artwork shows Hayden Christensen unmasked in the eagerly awaited Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

We already knew, Hayden Christen will return in his role of Darth Vader in the series dedicated to Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney. The new Star Wars production will also mark the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. Many questions surround the future interactions between the two characters, as Darth Vader is not supposed to have crossed Obi-Wan’s path between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Either way, new artwork in the series shows that we’re going to get scenes showing Darth Vader unmasked and unarmoured.

These new artworks speak for themselves. They present Darth Vader as Hayden Christensen. It is surrounded by what appears to be a medical device. Device that is probably used to keep him alive without his armor and mask, which keep him alive. It therefore seems that we are going to attend a “maintenance” of the Sith Lord, customary in the comics dedicated to Darth Vader. We also see on these artworks a bacta tank, regularly used in the saga to heal certain characters.

Since Obi-Wan and Darth Vader are not expected to intersect during the series, we imagine Darth Vader will appear either in visions or in separate scenes. It would seem natural for Obi-Wan to feel great remorse over Anakin’s switch to the dark side. We could therefore also imagine an appearance of the latter in his dreams or nightmares.

Fans are still wondering what events will be told in the series. Indeed, Obi-Wan’s actions between the fall of the Jedi Order and A New Hope remain rather unclear. If a few events have been reported, including his final fight against Darth Maul on Tatooine in Rebels, many questions remain. The answer should not be long since several clues suggest that the filming of the series has already been completed. Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to arrive sometime in 2022 on Disney.
