Have you already disposed of your face shields? The national government is not hoping, as it already has this equipment in mind to combat the spread of new variants of the coronavirus.

The task of re-implementing a policy that makes the use of face shields mandatory in public places is now part of the task Force of the country on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in view of the emergence of the variant “Omicron” (B1.1.529).

This was considered by Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., Vaccine Tsar and Chief Implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, on Sunday, November 28th, after the discovery of Omicron caused panic and tightening of restrictions worldwide in several African and European countries. </ P In fact, Galvez, Chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Minister of Health, Francisco Duque III, is already in favor of this idea.

“We will look into the possibility. He [Duque] is pro na maibalik ang any protection that is natural (he [advocates] the return of any protection we can use), “he said in a virtual press conference.

” Some people from the World Health Organization (WHO ) also believe that we had a good campaign against the Delta variant compared to other [countries] because the face shields provide additional protection, “he added.

On November 15, President Duterte approved the IATF’s recommendation to remove the compulsory use of face shields in areas with alert levels 1 to 3 – practically voluntary.

The compulsory use of face shields over face masks was restricted to areas below alert level 5 and in “3Cs” or areas that are closed , crowded and where there is likely to be close contact such as hospitals and other medical facilities.

Use in areas with a high alert 4 has meanwhile been left at the discretion of local authorities (LGUs) and private institutions.
