Nolwenn Leroy opened up about this period of her life when she and her mother were almost homeless. A difficult time that marked him forever.
Family life, career … Nolwenn Leroy confided in an exclusive interview. But the singer also shared a traumatic episode that almost took her to the streets.
The winner of Star Academy season 2, whose 20 years will be celebrated on TF1 from October 30, is making her television debut as an actress. This Friday, October 29, she will play Deborah, one of the new characters in the series “Captain Marleau” on France 2. This new career as an actress could even coincide with a new job: that of coach in The Voice, even if for the moment nothing is less certain.
On the occasion of her promotional tour for her eighth album, titled “Cavalry” which will be released on November 12, Nolwenn Leroy took part in the interview game. It was with Femme Actuelle that the singer spoke about her music, about her son Marin, but also about a period of her traumatic life, which almost led her to a life of homelessness.
The one for whom war has been declared with Jenifer since the end of Star Academy, wished to talk about poor housing in France in one of her songs. A cause close to her heart, she explains. Indeed, the 39-year-old artist has also almost lived outside. “I think it touches me particularly, because I experienced in my childhood a moment of family rupture which made me come close to this danger.”, Confides the singer.
If she was lucky enough to be able to count on her grandmother to prevent her from sleeping in the street, Nolwenn Leroy “saw how things can change faster than you think”. This is why, since 2006, she has been the godmother of the Abbé Pierre Foundation for the housing of the underprivileged. “Solving poor housing should be a great national cause, because from this problem, so many others arise!”, She concludes.
