Warriors Guard Stephen Curry has been called up to the 2020-21 All-NBA first team, the league announced on Tuesday.
Curry joins Denver Nuggets Center Nikola Jokic, the 2020-21 season MVP, and Milwaukee Bucks striker Giannis Antetokounmpo as lead vote winners.
Curry, who averaged 32 points at the top of the league this season, received 98 first-team votes and the seventh overall All-NBA team rating in his fourth first-team selection. Only Antetokounmpo (100) and Jokic (99) had more first places than Curry.
In addition to Antetokounmpo (500 total points), Jokic (498 points) and Curry (496 points), the Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (402 points) and LA Clippers striker Kawhi Leonard (323 points) are part of the All-NBA first team.
This should come as no surprise as Curry, 33, had one of the best seasons of his decorated career. He shot 48.2% overall and 42.1% from 3-point range, and his historic end-of-season shot on goal helped propel the Warriors into the play-in tournament.
In Golden State’s last 20 games that they won 15-5, Curry averaged 37.2 points at 48.7% shooting, including 44.3% from 3-point range, 5, 5 rebounds and 5.3 assists. In the MVP voting, Curry took third place behind Jokic and Embiid.
Curry last made it to the All-NBA first team during the final run of Golden State in 2018-19. His only other first-team awards came during his two MVP seasons (2014-16).
