THE KICKOFF • NM State concludes its 2021 campaign on Saturday afternoon at Aggie Memorial Stadium by competing against the independent independent program UMass for the first time in program history. The kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT. • A variety of television networks will broadcast the opening meeting between the Aggies and the Minutemen. Bally Sports Arizona Plus, The CW El Paso / Las Cruces and Comcast New Mexico will televise the game while FloFootball will broadcast an online stream of the showdown. Adam Young (play-by-play), Danny Knee (analysis) and Tatiana Favela (part-time reporter) will be on hand to announce the action. • Fans who purchase a $ 10 ticket to Saturday’s season finale will receive two free general / upper deck tickets for the NM State men’s basketball team’s first WAC home game of the season against Chicago State on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

CHOOSE SIX • Nine NM State Seniors – Jared Wyatt , Robert Downs III, Andre Bodison, Caleb Mills, Austin Reeves, Eli Johnson, Doro Omerhi, David Ash and Sage Doxtater – will all be in aggie uniform for their final game on Saturday afternoon against UMass. • Trevor Brohard’s 25-yard Fumble return touchdown in Kentucky last Saturday made the NM State linebacker the first aggie defensive player to return a fumble for a touchdown since 2018. That year, Shane Jackson caught a loose ball and returned it 34 yards to the house against Texas State on October 27. • Ethan Albertson reached his long career for a last Saturday in Kentucky just before the end of the first half in Kentucky Field goal by drilling a 50 yarder. Albertson has tried his last five field goals, including a pair of 50-yarders. His maximum 1.45 field goals per game among all independent FBS kickers and place 23 in the nation. • With a team lead of three interceptions in 2021, Junior Defensive Back D.J. McCullough tops all independent FBS players this year. That total is the 22nd highest among FBS players from across the nation, making him one of three multi-intercepted aggies this year. • Jared Wyatt (503) and Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda (511) are the first aggie- Duo since 2018, each receiving a record 500 yards in one season. The last duo to achieve this were Johnathan Boone and OJ Clark. Boone had 715 yards while Clark had 512 yards. • Linebacker Chris Ojoh continues to shine in his first season with the Crimson and White. Ojoh now has 63 tackles in the season and 13.0 tackles for the loss. He is the first Aggie since Rashie Hodge Jr to have 10 TFLs in one season (2019).

INDEPENDENTS DAY • NM State competes against UMass with another independent FBS program for the first time this season. • The Aggies stand 1-4 against other independent FBS teams under the direction of head coach Doug Martin. NM State’s last win over an independent program came on October 6, 2018, when the Aggies defeated Liberty with a 49:41 at Aggie Memorial Stadium. • The Aggies have a 2-7 all-time mark against other independent FBS programs. • A Victory would bring NM State multiple home wins for the sixth time since the 2016 season. The last time NM State failed to win two or more home games was in 2015 when the Aggies drew 4-1 at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

NIFTY FIFTY • Ethan Albertson has played in back-to-back Playing 50 yard field goals scored. His 50-yard mark in the first quarter at third-placed Alabama on Saturday, November 13, gave NM State a 3-0 lead -0 by the end of the first quarter on 11/19/2016.

SEASON FINAL • NM State won the last game of the season three times under head coach Doug Martin. Most recently, the Aggies won a 36-29 triumph against Dixie State at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas to crown a two-game spring season of 2021. • Martin also led the team to season wins in 2013 (24-16 over Idaho in Aggie Memorial Stadium) and in 2017 with a 26:20 win over Utah State in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl.

REMARKS vs. KENTUCKY | Saturday, November 20, 2021 • Another trio of pass abandonments increased Syrus Dumas’ season total to the team lead of 8. • Trevor Brohard had a tremendous effort on defense, ending with seven tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss at 1.0 Sacks. He also forced a fumble on the Wildcats’ opening drive, taking it 25 yards the other way for a touchdown to give NM State a 7-0 lead. It was the second straight week that the Aggies scored their first goal against SEC opponents. • For the fourth straight week, kicker Ethan Albertson scored the best field goal of his career. After a 44-yard field goal in Hawaii, a 45-yarder against Utah State, Albertson scored 50-yards against both Alabama and Kentucky. With three field goal games against Kentucky, Albertson is now 16 of 21 in the season. His 16 brands are the second most in a single season in the history of the program and with one more brand he would tie Dat Ly for the most brands in a single season in NM state history. • JJ Dervil picked up a pass for his first interception the season. With this selection, NM State has six defensive players who released interceptions in 2021. That’s the most since seven different Aggies who registered picks in 2017.

CUSTOMER SERVICE UMASS | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS • Like NM State, UMass is looking for its second win of the season at Aggie Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. • UMass’ only win in 2021 came on Saturday October 9th when they beat UCONN by 27 -13 in Amherst, Massachusetts. After being limited to single-digit scores in four of their first seven games, the Minutemen have reached double-digit points in four consecutive games. • Redshirt rookie quarterback Garrett Dzuro took over for Brady Olson under the middle last Saturday against Army and went 7 of 13 with one touchdown and two interceptions in UMass’ 33-17 setback against the Black Knights. • Gerrell Johnson (76) and Da’Shon Ross (73) top the Minutemen charts this season overall. The Minutemen’s last real road win came on October 27, 2018, when they scored a 22:17 win at UCONN.
