Netflix today unveiled a new disaster movie that will feature a bunch of Hollywood stars.
Don’t Look Up tells the story of two astronomers, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who must save humanity from a comet on its way to Earth. The problem: no one believes them.
The two headliners are trying their best to convince those in power to do something to avert catastrophe.
Alongside the two Oscar-winning actors will be several big names: Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, Rob Morgan, Mark Rylance, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi), Himesh Patel, Melanie Lynskey, Michael Chiklis, Tomer Sisley and Chris Evans.
The film was directed and written by Adam McKay, who also worked on Anchorman, Step Brothers and The Big Short (for which he won an Oscar). Don’t Look Up is therefore a promising project.
Its theatrical release is scheduled for December 10. It will be available on Netflix on December 24.
