Napoli confirmed their lead at the top of the championship with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari on Sunday, on matchday six of Italian Serie A.
Napoli were back at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium two weeks later, having beaten Udinese (0-4) and Sampdoria (0-4) away, confirming their form.
They beat the Cagliari of Walter Mazzarri, himself a former coach of the Neapolitan team (between 2009 and 2013, editor’s note).
Victor Osimhen, in great shape for the past few weeks, opened the scoring with a pass from Pole Piotr Zielinski. The Nigerian now has four Serie A goals and has scored six in total this season, including a brace against Leicester in the Europa League.
In the second half, the Nigerian international pushed Diego Godin to the fault and offered a penalty to his team. Lorenzo Insigne, Neapolitan captain, converted the penalty to score the 2-0 goal.
Luciano Spalletti’s men lead the table with 18 points, two more than Milan who beat Spezia on Saturday, and four more than Inter, who drew 2-2 against Atalanta this week. -end.
