A traffic accident involving four vehicles occurred this Friday August 27, at noon, on the A71 motorway, near Monestier, in the direction Clermont-Ferrand – Paris. According to the first elements collected on the spot by the gendarmes of the EDSR (departmental road safety squadron) of the Allier, a motorist would have suddenly braked, causing a chain collision with the cars following him.

Two occupants of the same vehicle, seriously injured, were fatally injured at the CHU Gabriel-Montpied, in Clermont-Ferrand. Four other people, more slightly affected, were transported by the firefighters (*) to the Vichy hospital.

The accident caused a traffic jam for nearly 7 kilometers. A bypass was set up at exit 14 (Gannat center) throughout the duration of the emergency services and until the removal of the vehicles involved.

(*) 21 firefighters were mobilized, from the Chantelle, Ebreuil, Gannat, Montmarault, Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule and Vichy rescue centers.
