Acting Vice Mayor of Cebu City, Michael Rama, stated in a statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday the 7th.

Before deciding to run for mayor, Rama said he was also considering running for Vice Mayor of Labella – if the current mayor ran for re-election – or as a representative of the 2nd District (Southern District) of Cebu City in Congress.

Labella has had at least five leave of absence for health reasons, during which Rama had to step in as incumbent mayor several times during the pandemic year.

Despite occasional public disagreements with Labella, including once that Rama called Labella to Revealing his “true” health, Vice Mayor Rappler said he was still on good terms with Labella.
