Former national team goalkeeper Mehdi Cerbah died on Friday at the age of 68 from illness, APS reports. He had participated in the three matches of the EN (He has 62 selections) played during the 1982 World Cup which took place in Spain.

Born on January 3, 1953 in Algiers, Cerbah began his professional career at USM Algiers, which he had joined as a junior in 1969 before joining JS Kabylie in 1972, with which he had spent eight seasons, for s ” then engage with RC Kouba (1980-1982), winning at the national passage (1981).

He has only one experience abroad under the colors of the club
Canadian Manic de Montreal (1982-1983), before returning to the RCK with which he ended his career in 1986 at the age of 33.
As a coach, he had been on the bench of several clubs in
Algeria such as USM Blida and JSM Béjaïa, alternating roles between
goalkeeper coach and assistant coach. His last experience
was with the Qatari club of Al-Sadd (2007-2013), as coach of
keepers.
The burial will take place in the cemetery of Sidi Yahia (Algiers).
