In Quotidien this Tuesday, September 21, Yann Barthès received Asia Argento. The one who is at the origin of the #Metoo movement returned to the suicide of her companion, chef Anthony Bourdain.

On June 8, 2018, Anthony Bourdain committed suicide at the age of 61. The lifeless body of the American chef, much publicized in his country, had been found at his hotel in France by his friend, the famous chef of Bernardin, Eric Ripert. The sad information was confirmed by the CNN channel which was the chef’s employer: “It is with extraordinary sadness that we are able to confirm the death of our friend and colleague Anthony Bourdain”. If he was a real star in the United States, he was also the companion of actress Asia Argento. The latter reacted on Twitter in a poignant message: “Anthony gave himself completely in everything he did. His brilliant, fearless mind touched and inspired so many people and his generosity was limitless. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am more than devastated. My thoughts are with her family. I ask that their privacy be respected as well as mine “.

Two years later, during an interview with JDD, Asia Argento had confided in life without Anthony Bourdain: “Anthony’s death is a huge fracture of my soul, I think of him every days, I speak with him. ” Traumatized by the loss of her companion, Dario Argento’s daughter even felt she was the victim of a curse: “Bad luck has been with me all my life. Someone looked bad at me.” The actress had, moreover, been accused of sexual assault by the young actor Jimmy Bennett. This September 21, the one by whom the #Metoo movement was launched was invited by Yann Barthès in Quotidien. She spoke again of her pain since the disappearance of her companion. “I miss him a lot. Maybe I’ll never love someone again,” she began.

The actress then made a point of launching an appeal around the suicide which is “still a taboo” today according to her. “I spoke with a psychologist, who had spoken with 4.5 people who tried to kill themselves, and half didn’t know why they tried to kill themselves. The other half was for things not important “, reports the actress. “I mean suicide, we have to talk more about that, it’s still a taboo,” she added. Asia Argento then returned to her husband: “Anthony, he drank a lot, me too. He was an alcoholic, I too was an alcoholic, and he suffered from depression. We need to talk more about that,” she concluded. . An interview to be found in replay here.
