BALTIMORE (WJZ) – The National Weather Service released a flash flood monitoring system for most of west, central, south and northeast Maryland on Monday.

The clock spans the Baltimore-Washington corridor , Parts of western Maryland and several counties on the east coast covering Allegany, Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Howard, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, Cecil, Kent, Queen’s Anne’s and several other counties in Maryland, as well as Baltimore City.

Isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening can generate strong gusts of wind and downpours, which lead to punctual flooding.
