The dominance of electric vehicles is growing rapidly in the automotive market. Luxury vehicle maker Land Rover has announced that it will add a fully electric Range Rover to its range by 2024. The company announced this at the launch of the Range Rover 2022.
The British luxury car manufacturer plans to bring six electric cars onto the market in the coming years. The fully electric Range Rover will be the first vehicle in the upcoming electric fleet and will be available until 2024. The electric Range Rover will be tough competition for BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUVs. Even if the all-electric Range Rover won’t be a stark contrast to current gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, there will be big changes under the hood.
We’re pretty unsure whether the upcoming electric Range Rover will incorporate Jaguars I technology -Pace will borrow. It is also believed that this electric Range Rover could borrow technology from the collaboration between JLR and BMW.
The upcoming 2022 Range Rover will get a variety of options to choose from. Buyers can choose between two plug-in hybrids, three diesel and three gasoline SUVs. In terms of seating arrangements, the Range Rover 2022 will get four, five and seven seat configurations. It’s important to note that the new Range Rover will have a Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform.
In terms of performance, the Range Rover will have six- and eight-cylinder powertrains in 2022. Some of the connectivity features include Amazon Alexa as a built-in voice assistant. Users also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which improve the connectivity of the SUV with smartphones.
