Forget the monocle, drop the top hat and the cane with a pommel, Arsène Lupine sees himself reinvented in the guise of Omar Sy. On January 8, Netflix posted its new creation Lupine, a series that renews the genre of the gentleman burglar, with humor and finesse. The British George Kay (Criminal, Stag, Killing Eve) and the French François Uzan (France KBek, Family Business), writers of this first season, dusted off the famous hero invented in 1905 by Maurice Leblanc.
In the first part of season 1, we are far from Arsène Lupine of 1905. Here, he sees himself embodied by the famous Omar Sy, in the skin of Assane Diop, a father in the incredible situation who wishes avenge the death of his father, taking inspiration from his hero: the gentleman burglar. Between sleight of hand, computer hack, acrobatics on the roofs of Paris … Will he succeed? Will he get caught by the police?
On the occasion of Lupine’s release on Netflix, Grazia.fr met Shirine Boutella (Belkacem) and Soufiane Guerrab (Youssef), as police officers determined to get their hands on the mysterious gentleman burglar.
