Pique, Garcia and Dest gave way to Araujo, Lenglet and Emerson. In midfield, Pedri was replaced by Roberto while attacking trio Braithwaite, Griezmann, Depay were once again lined up. Getafe was in a 4-4-2 position, notably with the former Strasbourg player Mitrovic in central defense. Ünal and Sandro formed the attacking duo. Barca struck from the start, Depay shifted Alba to the left side who crossed for Braithwaite. With a heel, the former Toulousain served Roberto who pushed the ball into the net (1-0, 2nd).

Getafe reacted through Aleñá, whose shot came very close to ter Stegen’s right post (9 ‘). The visitors came back to score thanks to a former Barcelona player. After a one-two with Aleñá, Ramírez tried his hand from entering the box and beat the German goalkeeper (1-1, 19th). The Blaugranas were back in front a few minutes later, De Jong served Depay in the deep on the left side which went into the box. The Dutch international went on to pass his leg then inside hook and hit flush with Soria’s post (2-1, 30 ‘). Just before half-time, Arambarri released a shot from 25 meters, badly repelled by ter Stegen (41st). By recovering the ball, the Barça goalkeeper was struck by Ünal and remained a few seconds on the ground, before resuming his place.

Both teams returned to the locker room with a 2-1 scoreline, after a first period that Barcelona controlled overall with 65% possession. Getafe was pressing a little higher, which allowed him to scratch a few balloons. One of them led to a shot by Jankto from 25 meters, deflected by ter Stegen for a corner (50 ‘). The Azulones were once again in a good position. Aleñá was found in the box, but he couldn’t follow it with a shot after his control and faced a good comeback from Emerson (55 ‘). The Blaugrana left more and more space, which allowed Maksimović to try his luck too, an attempt captured by the German goalkeeper (60 ‘).

Barça were trying to get their foot on the ball and regain control that was theirs in the first half, without much success. The Catalan club even lost two players to injury, Roberto and Braithwaite gave way to Gavi and Gonzalez. Araujo thought he was going to put his team to safety, but his goal was ultimately denied for an offside position (83rd). Depay had the opportunity to score a brace, but his header went over the goal of Soria (85 ‘). FC Barcelona ultimately kept the 2-1 score until the end of added time and clinched their second victory of the season. On the next day, the Barcelonans will challenge Seville on its lawn.
