The 36-year-old TV presenter not only tied the knot with Scottish comedian Iain Stirling (33) in Dublin City Hall last November, but also her first in March Child welcomes – a daughter, whose name she would rather not call the public eye.

With the final set of Love Island airing tonight, millions of fans will tune in to find out which gold couple will take the crown and who better to carry out their fate than Whitmore.

Looking back on her turbulent year, she tells us: “I haven’t been to my hometown Bray since December 2019, which is crazy when you think about it.

“A lot of my friends went to the airport to try to board a flight but they weren’t allowed to go, which was annoying, so we spent a lot of time together.

“The Christmas season was especially tough for the Irish expats trapped in London, and I found that difficult because I had never spent Christmas in the UK.”

Every cloud has its silver lining, and Whitmore adds, “I’m really lucky that my mom was with us and she’s still with us, so I feel like I have a little bit of my family here . “

The former MTV presenter is doubly annoyed and encourages others to do the same after several of her friends became infected with the coronavirus and became ill.

“I actually spoke to my doctor because I was breastfeeding and wasn’t sure [how sure it was]. It’s such a new vaccine so I spoke to my obstetrician who examined it and he showed me the results and how there was nothing to prove the milk was at risk of contamination.

“That’s why I felt confident about getting it, and I totally would get it because I had a couple of friends who got Covid after they missed it because of their age.

Whitmore – who runs a Dare 2b apparel department – also reveals how her body has changed.

“I had a baby so my body has changed a lot. I didn’t exercise that much because I was pregnant and didn’t feel like it and I think it’s important to listen to your body.

“It’s weird because I think my body is worse in my 30s than it was in my 20s, but I like it more. I look back at my 18 year old me and wish I could have told her not to be as confident as she was because her body was great. I feel that as we get older, we value our bodies a lot more. ”

Whitmore indicated that she has struck the perfect balance between work and parenting. “I’m fortunate to be in this phase of my career where I can say, ‘I would love to take this job, but my baby is coming with me,’ and not everyone can say that,” she admits.

“Plus, when I’m on a very short trip to Mallorca, I just throw a pair of sneakers in my suitcase so I can walk along the beach in the morning. I like to do things that fit my lifestyle instead of going to the gym for two or three hours. ”

She’s not sure who she thinks will win the £ 50,000 prize tonight. “Who I think will win has changed every week. Still, in a way, the show reflects real life, with the ups and downs of the couples and the insecurities they have, and I think that’s why it works so well. It matters to a lot of people. “
