RADIO – Julie Leclerc was quick to bounce back. The old historic voice of Europe 1, kicked out of generalist radio last July after 49 years on the air, appears on RTL this Monday, August 30. She joined “Les Grosses Têtes” and shared the bill of the day with Isabelle Mergault, Vincent Dedienne, Pierre Palmade, Marcela Iacub and Olivier de Kersauson alongside Laurent Ruquier.

The surprise announcement was shared on the show’s Twitter account. And the least that can be said is that the presence of “Julie” very much delights some listeners of the program.

The 71-year-old host had been on the morning news sections of Europe 1 since 1972. She had worked with several figures from the station such as Thierry Le Luron, Pierre Lescure, Marc-Olivier Fogiel, Patrick Cohen, Thomas Sotto. or gave the reply to the comedians Jean-Yves Lafesse, Laurent Baffie and recently Nicolas Canteloup.

Thanked shortly after the latter, she confided her “sadness” to the AFP, regretting a decision which was “not of her doing”. His dismissal had symbolized the new direction taken by Europe 1, freshly taken over by Vincent Bolloré, and whose merger with CNews continues to materialize. A start that was added to those of Matthieu Belliard, Anne Roumanoff, Patrick Cohen, Bertrand Chameroy, Pascale Clark, Laurent Cabrol, Michaël Darmon and even Émilie Mazoyer.

In total, nearly 70 employees, a majority of them journalists, have left the station in recent months. Some of them will also be replaced at the start of the school year by personalities from CNews, like Dimitri Pavlenko, defector of Radio Classique and teammate of Eric Zemmour in “Face à l’Info” on CNews , who is now in charge of the morning. As for Sonia Mabrouk, she took over the animation of the Sunday political “Le Grand Rendez-vous” in place of Michaël Darmon. Several programs common to CNews and Europe 1 are also scheduled.
